Former Arsenal manager and FIFA development chief Arsène Wenger said France are the favourites to lift the World Cup, adding that “France will win the World Cup. I know you’ll say it’s because I’m French, but when you analyse the tournament a bit, the train is moving at a certain speed today.”

Wenger argued that the only team capable of challenging Les Bleus is Spain, citing the Spaniards’ higher technical level and collective play culture. He noted, “If any team can beat France right now, it would be Spain, because they have a better technical level than France.”

The comments were made during an appearance on the Felix and Toni Kroos podcast ahead of France’s quarter‑final clash with Morocco, and they echo similar statements published in Brazil, Romania, Macedonia, Nigeria, the United States and other outlets.
