Arson attacks reported in Scotland and Australia
Two separate arson incidents involving residential properties and vehicles have been reported in Scotland and Australia.
In Broughty Ferry, Dundee, a family's home and two vehicles were targeted in an unprovoked night-time attack on October 1. Ring doorbell footage captured two masked individuals dousing the property with flammable liquid and setting it ablaze. One individual was seen carrying a machete. While the residents were not injured, the attack caused extensive damage to the home and destroyed both vehicles. Police Scotland is currently investigating the incident.
In Ballajura, a suburb of Perth, two hooded individuals targeted a parked Volkswagen in the early hours of a Friday morning. CCTV footage shows a white sedan returning to a cul-de-sac, after which two people exited the vehicle, poured liquid on the car, and ignited it. The fire occurred near a home containing four people. Emergency services arrived approximately 10 minutes after the incident, finding the vehicle a total loss. Local residents described the event as out of character for the quiet neighborhood.
