ARSP Director General Ted Beleshayi aims to restore institutional credibility
Ted Beleshayi Kasanda, the Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Subcontracting in the Private Sector (ARSP) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has outlined efforts to restore the institution's reputation. Beleshayi noted that upon his arrival, the authority had lost credibility among regulated companies, leading to perceptions of the agency acting as “racketeers.”
To address these issues, Beleshayi is implementing new oversight methods to ensure inspections align with accounting periods and avoid redundant, overlapping audits. He is also awaiting the results of an audit regarding the management of his predecessor, Miguel Kashal Katemb.
In a separate effort to strengthen the Congolese economy, Beleshayi met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner. The two officials discussed enhancing cooperation between economic diplomacy and the ARSP to promote local content. This synergy aims to better integrate Congolese companies into value chains created by foreign investments in the country.
