Art Déco Week festival to debut across Italy in November 2026

The first national festival dedicated to the architectural and artistic heritage of the 1920s and 1930s, titled ‘Art Déco Week’, is scheduled to debut in Italy from November 18 to 24, 2026. Organized by the Associazione Italia Liberty and conceived by curator Professor Andrea Speziali, the event aims to explore the transition from the organic curves of Art Nouveau to the geometric order of the Art Déco style.

The program features 40 guided itineraries spanning all 20 Italian regions, covering diverse locations including major cities, thermal spas, seaside resorts, and historic cinemas. Notable stops include Milan, focusing on the works of Piero Portaluppi; Rome, highlighting luxury hotels and cinemas; and various sites in Turin, Palermo, Catania, Naples, and Venice.

In addition to the physical tours, the festival will include seven daily scientific conferences held online to provide deeper academic insight into the period. The shell has been chosen as the symbolic motif for this inaugural edition, representing the stylistic shift from organic forms to rhythmic, geometric sequences.
