Art Deco coffee canister sells for 18,000 CZK at auction

An antique merchant coffee canister, designed in the Art Deco style, recently sold for 18,000 CZK on the Aukro auction platform. The copper vessel stands 104 centimeters tall with a diameter of 39 centimeters.

Experts note that the high price is attributed to the item's material, dimensions, and historical markings. Unlike smaller enamel containers, this large-scale piece is classified as commercial equipment rather than a simple kitchen accessory. Its design reflects the aesthetic of the First Republic era in the Czech Republic. Similar museum pieces, such as those held by the Coffee Museum, include copper and lacquered tin canisters from the 1910s and 1920s.
