Art exhibitions and awards highlighted in Italy

The XVI edition of the Biennale Internazionale d’Arte di Roma ‘Futura’ has opened at Sala Margana. Among the featured participants is Marisa Riso, an artist and educator from Lanciano, who is participating as both a visual artist and a moderator for meetings. Her work, characterized by ‘poetic pictorism,’ integrates visual elements with literary themes, specifically referencing her recent collection ‘L’esserci tra ombra e luce.’

In Suzzara, the 53rd edition of the Premio Suzzara has concluded, focusing on the theme ‘Scorched Earth: Art in the Anthropocene.’ The top prize was awarded to Lithuanian artist Kotryna Onaitytė for her oil painting ‘X and Y (Tilia x europaea L.),’ which examines the fragile connection between human systems and the natural world. The People’s Jury Prize was awarded to Kristine Kvitka for her work ‘Campo arato. Radici, speranza, futuro.’
