Art exhibitions and museums showcase traditional Indian works in Hyderabad

Hyderabad is hosting diverse displays of Indian art, ranging from traditional painting exhibitions to private museum collections.

Artist Lalita Kapilavai has opened ‘Kalaprayanam – A Journey Through Art, Enduring Traditions and Self-Discovery’ at the State Art Gallery. The three-day exhibition features various regional styles, including Pahari, Pichwai, Mysore, and Tanjore traditions. Curated by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Vijay Sharma, the collection includes works inspired by the Guler and Kangra schools.

Additionally, the P. T. Reddy Art Museum, located on Narayanguda main road, preserves the legacy of artist Pakala Tirumala Reddy. The 20-room museum houses approximately 600 artworks and 100 sculptures, including Neo-tantric pieces, Ganesha series, and Vishnu Chakra works. Managed by the artist's daughter, Lakshmi Reddy, the museum displays rotating themes such as portraits of politicians, Buddhist stories, and nature-inspired abstractions.
