Art exhibitions highlight diaspora and contemporary works in Japan

Several notable art exhibitions are currently held in the Kanto and Kansai regions of Japan. At the Mori Art Museum, the MAM Research 012 project, titled ‘Diaspora Memory – Korean Artists Living Across Borders’, explores the experiences of Korean diaspora through the works of Kwak In-sik, Sung Hyoung-suk, and Alexander Woo.

In Tokyo, SCAI PIRAMIDE is hosting a solo exhibition for French artist Daniel Buren titled ‘Situated Works 1966-2013’, showcasing his signature 8.7 cm striped works and site-specific practices. Additionally, SNOW Contemporary is featuring a solo exhibition by Shu Yonezawa titled ‘Characters of Voiceless Voices’.

In Kyoto, the gallery exhibition ‘Beside Daily Life, a Faint Distortion’ featuring Yasuhide Yoshimura is also drawing attention.
