Italy announces upcoming art and craftsmanship exhibitions
Italy is hosting several significant cultural exhibitions scheduled through 2026. At the Gallerie Nazionali Barberini Corsini in Rome, the exhibition "Bernini e i Barberini" will run from February 12 to June 14, 2026. The show examines the artistic and political relationship between Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Pope Urban VIII (Maffeo Barberini), a key connection in the development of the Baroque style.
In Castelbasso, Abruzzo, the Fondazione Malvina Menegaz will host the fourth edition of "Progetto Genesi: Arte e Diritti Umani" from July 25 to August 30, 2026. Curated by Ilaria Bernardi, this exhibition uses contemporary art to address human rights, covering themes such as the female condition, censorship, genocide, and environmental protection through works by artists including Shirin Neshat and Sebastião Salgado.
Additionally, the tenth edition of "Fatti ad Arte" will take place at Palazzo Gromo Losa in Biella from August 22 to October 18, 2026. This event explores the intersection of high craftsmanship and contemporary art, featuring an installation by fiber artist Elham M. Aghili and works by cabinetmakers Omar Barbero and Luciano Tousco.
