Art exhibitions open in Dresden and Schwerin
New art exhibitions have opened in Germany, showcasing diverse styles and perspectives. In Dresden, the Neue Galerie Dresden is hosting the autumn exhibition titled ‘Von verschiedenen Seiten betrachtet’ (Viewed From Different Sides), which runs from September to December 2, 2026. The showcase features works from long-term collaborators of the gallery, blending abstraction with figuration. Notable pieces include Devin Miles’ ‘Blossom Icon,’ which changes motifs depending on the viewer's physical position, and Koroush Namazi’s ‘Behind the Surface III,’ a color-intensive composition based on a fragmented face.
In Schwerin, the venue ‘tisch’ has launched an exhibition by artist Xenia Fink as part of the ‘Im kleinen Rahmen’ series. Fink’s practice utilizes drawing, installations, textile works, and animations. Her current work explores themes of gender through the use of folds, decorative ornamentation, and hair, using line work to navigate the space between figurative representation and abstraction.
