Art Exhibitions Open in Jena and Attendorn Showcasing Local German Artists

In Jena, the Institute for Biochemistry’s “Ganz kleine Galerie” opened its 93rd exhibition titled “Das verflixte achte Schuljahr – Chaos im Kopf.” The show features “Traumcollagen” created by students of the Erasmus‑Reinhold‑Gymnasium Saalfeld during art lessons with artist Tine Drefahl. Curated by Bernd Wiederanders, the free exhibition is open Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑6 pm in the institute’s foyer and stairwell.

Meanwhile, the Helios Clinic in Attendorn began displaying a new exhibition by local painter Petra Steden in its foyer. Titled “Kunst wie ich – farbintensiv, stilreich, aleatorisch,” the acrylic works convey personal memories and emotions, aiming to provide hope and a brief respite for patients, visitors and staff. The exhibition also notes Steden’s recent recovery from a lung embolism, supported by clinic doctors Martin Asbach and Martin Bischopink. Both exhibitions emphasize the role of art in everyday community spaces.
