Art exhibitions open in Split featuring painting and photography

Two new art exhibitions have opened in Split, Croatia.

At the University Gallery, visual artist Petra Marija Jeličić-Lovreković is presenting ‘What Remains Between’. The exhibition showcases an artistic investigation of place, architecture, and landscape, transforming these elements into an abstract painterly language. The works, developed between 2022 and 2026, include cycles inspired by Sicily, moving from architectural structures to organic forms through themes of memory and perception.

At the Alliance Française, photographer Nives Dupor is exhibiting ‘Between Light and Color’. The collection features portraits in both black-and-white and color formats to illustrate different ways of experiencing a single moment. The photography focuses on themes of resilience and womanhood, set against backdrops of abandoned or decaying industrial and residential spaces from the former Yugoslav era.
