Art exhibitions open in Świnoujście and Zakopane
Two new art exhibitions have opened in Poland, showcasing diverse styles ranging from contemporary expressionism to traditional glass painting.
In Świnoujście, the ms44 Contemporary Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of Jacek Sroka’s paintings and drawings. The collection features both recent and older works, highlighting a shift from narrative figurativity toward increasing painterly expression. The exhibition, titled ‘Rozmowa z Marsjaszem’, explores themes of rebellion and the human condition through Sroka’s unique artistic perspective.
In Zakopane, the Villa Czerwony Dwór is presenting an exhibition dedicated to the glass painting traditions of the Podhale region. The display honors the works of Jan Gąsienica-Szostak, who elevated traditional folk art into a sophisticated form, and his daughter, Krystyna, whose colorful and illustrative style was rediscovered after many years. The exhibition is free to the public and will run until January 16, 2027.
