Italy celebrates 160 years of diplomatic relations with Japan

To mark 160 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan, an inclusion-focused initiative was held at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo on October 27, 2026. Promoted by the Minister for Disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli, the event brought together twelve Italian associations and approximately one hundred participants, including individuals with disabilities, educators, and caregivers.

The initiative, titled ‘Together for Inclusion’, aimed to facilitate the exchange of best practices regarding the professional and social inclusion of people with disabilities. Participants demonstrated their skills through various activities, including catering, hospitality, and musical entertainment. Minister Locatelli emphasized that the event was not merely a dinner, but a platform to showcase the capabilities of individuals and promote a shared vision of inclusion as a fundamental element for societal development.
