Art exhibitions opening in Florianópolis and Óbidos
New art exhibitions are opening in Brazil and Portugal. In Florianópolis, visual artist Saturno Talavera is presenting ‘Antropomórfico: Cavernas de Sentimentos Omitidos’ at Galeria Lama. The exhibition, curated by Sil Lucas, features 21 works produced over six years, including 12 paintings, six ceramics, and three woodcuts. The collection uses the metaphor of a cave to explore suppressed emotions and traumas.
In Óbidos, Portugal, the Museu Abílio de Mattos e Silva will host the ‘Luz & Sombra’ photography exhibition starting September 5. Organized by the Associação Portuguesa das Artes in collaboration with the Óbidos Opera Festival, the showcase features finalist series from a national photography contest. The exhibition explores themes of duality and connects to the legacy of artist Abílio de Mattos e Silva.
