Art exhibitions opening in Montichiari and Montevarchi
Two new art exhibitions are opening in Italy. In Montichiari, the Museo Lechi will host “Astrolabio,” an exhibition dedicated to the works of painter Francesco Misino. The show, which runs from August 29 to September 27, features works that explore themes of time through various materials, including knotted ropes, straw, and glass marbles.
In Montevarchi, the exhibition “Caro Straccio” by New York-based artist and performer Rita Lintz will open at the Ombra space on September 4. This exhibition marks the beginning of the “Manifattura 2.0” cycle, a project exploring the relationship between manufacturing, memory, and manual labor. Lintz’s work utilizes approximately 40 large-format photographs to transform industrial scraps, such as rags and fabric bales, into aesthetic and narrative art. The exhibition is held in a former hat and shoe factory repurposed as a multidisciplinary space.
