Italy and international institutions are launching a diverse series of major art exhibitions for the autumn 2026 season.
In Ferrara, Palazzo dei Diamanti will host a retrospective titled ‘From Monet to Van Gogh to Kandinsky,’ featuring over 120 works exploring the evolution of landscape painting from the 19th to the 20th century. Meanwhile, Udine’s Casa Cavazzini recently concluded a record-breaking Impressionism exhibition that drew over 81,000 visitors, including a significant international audience from Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, and Germany.
International cultural exchange is highlighted by a major Giorgio Morandi retrospective at the Museum of Art Pudong in Shanghai, showcasing over 140 works. In Bologna, Palazzo Albergati will present works from the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection, focusing on Catalan culture and Modernism. Other notable upcoming events include a Giuseppe Modica exhibition at the Mattatoio in Rome, a Giulio Turci exhibition in Venice, and an Isaac Julien installation in Bergamo.
Additionally, the Museo Hermann Hesse in Montagnola is hosting a show dedicated to Isa Hesse-Rabinovitch, highlighting her independent artistic voice beyond her role as an illustrator for her father-in-law.
