Art exhibitions scheduled to open in Sitia and Athens

Two distinct art exhibitions are scheduled to open in Greece in late September 2026.

In Sitia, the exhibition ‘Den anthisan mataios…’ (They Did Not Bloom in Vain…) will be held at the Vicentzos Kornaros Roof from September 23 to September 30. The showcase features a dialogue between painting and photography, exploring the passage of time, loss, and memory through the works of painter Manolis Plexousakis and photographer Dimitris Tiniaikos.

In Athens, the Lofos Art Project in Kypseli will host an exhibition exploring the boundaries of photorealistic painting from September 24 to October 20. Curated by art historian Spyros Moschonas, the exhibition creates a hypothetical dialogue between the late painter Giannis Santantonio and younger artists, including Iros Kanakaki, Miltos Skouras, Theodora Chaldaia, Kyriaki Christakopoulou, and Christos Christou.
