Art Garfunkel considers leaving the US over political and environmental concerns

Singer Art Garfunkel has expressed intentions to potentially leave the United States, citing concerns over the political direction of the country under President Donald Trump, climate change, and global hunger.

In an interview with The Guardian, Garfunkel specifically criticized the administration’s actions in Venezuela, describing the situation as “shocking.” His comments follow the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro by US forces eight months ago, an operation that led to increased US involvement in the Venezuelan oil industry and raised questions regarding international law.

Beyond politics, Garfunkel reflected on his personal life, including a recent reconciliation with longtime musical partner Paul Simon. While expressing dismay over the current state of the nation, he noted that administrations are temporary, stating, “Trump won’t last forever. So we’ve got to hope.”
