Art institutions in Brazil and Portugal announce new exhibitions and anniversaries

Artist Lyz Parayzo is opening a solo exhibition titled “Cosmo Parayzo” at the Paço Imperial in Rio de Janeiro. The exhibition, running from September 26 to November 22, 2026, celebrates the first decade of her multidisciplinary work, which includes jewelry, performance, sculpture, audiovisual, and kinetic installation. Her work utilizes ancestral metalworking techniques to address themes of the female and dissident body.

In Portugal, the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) is celebrating its 10th anniversary with two days of free admission. The anniversary features the debut of four new exhibitions: “Com o coração livre de cuidados” by Pedro Cabrita Reis, “VENUS” by Valentino Garavani, “New Age” by João Pimenta Gomes, and a retrospective of the museum’s printed publications from 2016 to 2026. The celebration includes various activities such as opera performances, workshops, and guided tours designed for diverse audiences, including tactile visits for the visually impaired.
