Art community honors legacies of Antonio D'Agostino and Denys Zacharopoulos
A new monograph published by Silvana Editoriale explores the multifaceted life and career of Antonio D'Agostino (1938-2025). The volume examines his diverse contributions to the Italian cultural landscape, including his work as an analytical painter, a pioneer of the Light and Space movement, a documentary filmmaker, and a key figure in the Fluxus movement. The book features critical essays and historical testimonies that analyze his unique ability to navigate different visual languages, ranging from fine art to cult cinema.
Separately, the art community marks the passing of Denys Zacharopoulos, a prominent art theorist, historian, and curator. Zacharopoulos was known for his significant influence on generations of artists and students through his work with institutions such as Documenta in Kassel, the Thessaloniki Biennale, and the École du Magasin in Grenoble. He maintained close professional and personal ties with major artists including Gerhard Richter and Michelangelo Pistoletto.
