Arta Municipality direct awards increase by 25% in two years

Data from KIMDIS presented to the Arta Municipal Council shows a significant increase in the total value of direct awards for the Municipality of Arta, DEYA Arta, and the Municipal Development Agency (ADAE). According to Christos Tsirogiannis, leader of the 'Artinon Synergasia' faction, the total value of these awards rose from €2,346,958 in 2023 to €2,936,903 in 2025, representing a 25.1% increase of approximately €590,000 over two years.

The increase is particularly pronounced within DEYA Arta, where direct awards grew from €566,816 in 2023 to €917,477 in 2025, a 61.9% rise. Notably, the total number of contracts across the three entities did not increase, moving from 228 in 2023 to 225 in 2025.

While noting that direct awards are a legal procedure, 'Artinon Synergasia' has raised questions regarding economic efficiency, competition, and transparency. The faction is calling on the municipal administration to clarify the specific needs addressed by the additional funds, the identity of the contractors, and whether these practices ensure the best possible use of taxpayer money.
