Arta Police extend Ionia Odos traffic restrictions through Aug 31 2026

The Arta Police Directorate has extended the temporary traffic measures on the Ionia Odos highway to 31 August 2026. The extension covers emergency safety‑equipment repairs at the 159+400 km point and is effective from the publication of the decision, with an exception from 14 to 17 August when long‑term signage may remain but work will pause.

Along the same stretch toward Ioannina, one regular lane and the emergency lane are closed between km 174+900 and km 178+500. Traffic will use the remaining left‑hand lane. The closures are in force from 6 July 2026 at 07:00 until 10 August 2026 at 18:00, operating 24 hours a day. Work occurs weekdays from sunrise to sunset and on Saturdays until 16:00, with the possibility of earlier reopening if completed ahead of schedule.
