ArtArea and Kroshna literary festivals to be held at Laboratorijum
The tenth edition of the ArtArea literary festival and the fourth edition of the Kroshna festival for children and youth will take place from September 18 to 20 at the Laboratorijum cultural center. Operating under the motto ‘Next Stop – Peace’, the event is organized by the publishing houses Begemot and Skaznuvalka with financial support from the Creative Europe program.
The three-day program includes ten book promotions, a photography exhibition titled ‘Third Spaces’ by Teodor Tasevski, creative workshops for children, a publishing debate, and a jazz concert. A small book fair featuring contemporary Macedonian and translated European editions will also be held throughout the festival.
Key literary events include the promotion of the novel ‘The General’s Daughters’ by Albanian author Mimosa Hisa, Pajo Avirovic’s ‘Path to Bhutan’, and the Macedonian translation of Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko’s work. The festival aims to highlight authors and works that address social conflicts and foster dialogue.
