Arte premieres ‘Camarades’ series set in post-May 1968 Vincennes

The television network Arte is releasing a new eight-episode series titled ‘Camarades’, premiering on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The production, which won Best Actress at Séries Mania for Manon Kneusé, explores the experimental and libertarian atmosphere of the Vincennes University campus in the aftermath of the May 1968 protests in France.

The series blends archival footage with fiction to depict the unique social and political environment of the era. The plot follows Claudine, a character portrayed by Kneusé, who infiltrates the university as an informant for the police but becomes immersed in the revolutionary ideas of the faculty and students. The cast includes Grégory Gadebois, Vincent Elbaz, and Constance Dollé, with direction by Benjamin Charbit and Dominique Baumard.
