Artem Dovbyk poised for Genoa loan with Roma wage support

Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk has indicated openness to a move to Serie A side Genoa. Negotiations focus on a loan deal that includes an option to purchase, potentially securing a contract through 2031. A primary obstacle is Dovbyk’s current salary of around €3‑3.5 million net per season, which Genoa cannot fully cover. AS Roma, his current club after a €41 million transfer from Girona, is expected to contribute a share of the wages, at least for the first year, with a retained 10 % future‑transfer clause.

Genoa’s management, led by Dan Șucu, must reach agreement with both Roma and the player. Dovbyk, 29, has struggled for goals this season, scoring three in 18 appearances, and hopes the move will revive his career in Italy.
