You Ting disappearance: Authorities analyze mobile phone in Artemida case

Authorities in Greece, China, and Interpol are investigating the disappearance of You Ting, a 50-year-old Chinese translator who went missing from Artemida on May 20, 2026. Three months after her disappearance, investigators have recovered her mobile phone in the Patisia area of Athens, an area she had not planned to visit. Police are currently analyzing calls and messages from the device.

The investigation is exploring several leads, including potential kidnapping and financial matters. It has been revealed that You Ting was owed nearly 500,000 euros from various past cases. While rumors of espionage have circulated, her husband, Vasilis Karavasilis, has dismissed these claims, stating her skills and personality do not align with such activities.

Her 33-year-old son, currently in China, has expressed deep concern and requested help from Greek authorities to find his mother. The investigation is also looking into her movements and habits, including the use of a black automatic car, and examining connections to a real estate company involving Chinese interests located near where her phone was found.
