Artemis II crew members to attend Starmus festival in Tenerife and La Palma

The upcoming Starmus VIII - The Search for Truth festival, held in Tenerife and La Palma, will feature three members of the Artemis II space mission crew. Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen are scheduled to attend the event to share their experiences from the mission that marked humanity’s return to the vicinity of the Moon since the Apollo program.

This attendance creates a historical link to the festival’s origins; fifteen years after space pioneers such as Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Alexei Leonov participated in the inaugural edition, the event now hosts figures from the new era of lunar exploration. Other notable attendees include astronaut and former International Space Station commander Chris Hadfield, as well as former Canadian Governor General and astronaut Julie Payette.

Dr. Garik Israelian, co-founder and director of Starmus, noted the symbolism of the visit, stating that Artemis II has opened the next chapter of human exploration and serves as a bridge between the history of manned spaceflight and its future.
