Arter to host video art seminar series starting November 3
The Arter art institution will host a six-week seminar series titled ‘Dimensions of Video Art,’ led by researcher and author Hasan Cem Çal. The program is scheduled to take place on November 3, 10, 17, 24, and December 1 and 8 at the Arter Workshop.
The seminars will explore the historical development of video art through both classic works and contemporary studies. Topics include the relationship between video works and other media, as well as connections to concepts such as time, space, and the body. The series aims to examine how video functions as a multi-layered medium that intersects different disciplines and enables conceptual thought, ranging from early television appropriation to the use of video as a political or performative tool.
