Arthur Diles denies Juan Mata transfer rumors to Công An TP. HCM

Arthur Diles, head coach of Công An TP. HCM, has addressed rumors regarding the potential signing of former Spanish international Juan Mata. Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi, Diles clarified that while he maintains a close relationship with Mata, reports of a transfer are currently just rumors.

Diles noted that he and Mata worked together previously at Melbourne Victory. Upon his appointment at Công An TP. HCM, Diles reached out to Mata to gauge his interest in playing in Vietnam, but the midfielder has not yet provided an answer. Diles stated that Mata is currently weighing his options between continuing his professional career or retiring.

Mata, a decorated midfielder who has won the World Cup, European Championship, and UEFA Champions League, most recently played for Melbourne Victory in Australia. While the club remains open to welcoming him, no formal negotiations are underway.
