Arthur do Val sparks controversy with remark about Natália Boulos’s Ukrainian heritage

During a debate on the podcast ‘Inteligência Ltda.’, former state deputy Arthur do Val made a controversial remark regarding the Ukrainian heritage of Natália Boulos, a candidate for federal deputy and coordinator of the MTST.

When Boulos mentioned she is the granddaughter of a Ukrainian war refugee, do Val responded with ‘apresenta para nós’ (introduce them to us). The comment drew immediate criticism and was seen as a reference to a 2022 scandal where leaked audio recordings revealed do Val making sexist and predatory comments about vulnerable Ukrainian women during the war.

Do Val, who is currently a member of the Missão party, was previously stripped of his mandate from the São Paulo Legislative Assembly following the exposure of those remarks. Boulos, representing the PSOL party, used the moment to criticize his lack of moral standing regarding his past conduct toward refugees.
