Arthur Fery joins Great Britain Davis Cup squad for Ecuador tie

Arthur Fery has been named in the Great Britain Davis Cup squad for the upcoming World Group qualifier against Ecuador. The tie is scheduled to take place on September 19 and 20 at London’s Copper Box Arena.

Captain Leon Smith has selected a lineup that includes British number one Cameron Norrie and doubles specialists Henry Patten and Lloyd Glasspool. The selection comes following Fery’s significant rise in the rankings after reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals as a wildcard entry. Fery noted that representing the country at home in the World Group brings unique pressure, but expressed readiness for the challenge.

The matchup follows a format of best-of-five sets over two days, featuring two singles matches on the first day, followed by a doubles match and two additional singles matches on the second day. The squad's composition arrives amid notable absences, including Jack Draper.
