Arthur Fils to enter ATP Top 10 at world number 9

Arthur Fils is set to enter the ATP Top 10 for the first time in his career. At 22 years old, the French player will rise to the world number 9 position in the upcoming rankings update scheduled for September 28.

Fils, currently ranked 11th, will reach the 9th spot with 3,150 points without playing a tournament this week. His ascent is facilitated by Alex De Minaur and Taylor Fritz losing points from previous deep runs in Beijing and Tokyo, respectively. While Fils will tie De Minaur in total points, he will take the higher position due to his superior performance in Grand Slam and Masters 1000 events.

Fils becomes the 13th French player in history to join the Top 10. He is the third youngest Frenchman to achieve this milestone, following Richard Gasquet and Yannick Noah. His recent successes include winning the Cincinnati Masters 1000 and the Barcelona ATP 500.
