Arthur Fils wins Cincinnati Open title
Arthur Fils won the Cincinnati Open on August 23, 2026, defeating Frances Tiafoe with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-0. This victory marks the first ATP Masters 1000 title for the 22-year-old Frenchman and the biggest title of his career.
The final was historic as the first ATP Masters 1000 championship match contested by two Black players. Fils also became the youngest French player to win the Cincinnati event and only the second Frenchman to do so, following Guy Forget in 1991.
Fils' path to the title included victories over Jiri Lehecka, Alex de Minaur, Thiago Agustin Tirante, and Flavio Cobolli. Following his win, Fils faced a first-round exit at the US Open against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
