Arthur Henrique Picks Haroldo Cathedral as Vice‑Governor Candidate in Roraima

Former Boa Vista mayor Arthur Henrique, the Liberal Party (PL) candidate for governor of Brazil's northern state of Roraima, announced businessman and ex‑federal deputy Haroldo Cathedral (Novo) as his running mate for the 2026 election. The selection was made public at the Novo state convention in Boa Vista, where the party also confirmed nine federal deputy and eight state deputy candidacies.

Henrique said the choice resulted from discussions with the PL state executive, consultations with the public and personal prayer. Cathedral welcomed the nomination, noting it reflects the growing influence of the Novo party in the state's electoral contest. The PL also formally registered the ticket, completing its major slate alongside Senate candidates Hélio Lopes and Antônio Nicoletti.
