Arthur highlights accessibility challenges following ankle fracture

French television presenter Arthur (Jacques Essebag) has shared insights into his recovery following a severe accident that resulted in a double ankle fracture. Currently convalescing in French Polynesia, the presenter has been navigating life using a wheelchair and crutches for several weeks.

Through social media, Arthur highlighted the significant loss of autonomy caused by his injury, noting that even basic tasks like dressing or carrying a bag now require assistance. He used his experience to draw attention to the lack of accessibility in the world, describing how simple obstacles such as narrow doors, high sidewalks, or broken elevators can make movement nearly impossible for those with reduced mobility. He remarked that his injury allowed him to see a reality he had previously ignored, stating, “It took me fracturing my ankle in two places... to discover that the world is not made for everyone.”
