Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. subsidiary acquires London marine law firm

Gallagher Bassett, a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has announced the acquisition of Winter & Co. Solicitors LLP, a London-based marine law firm specializing in charterparty and shipping contract disputes. This move marks the company’s second acquisition in the specialty marine law sector in 2026, following the purchase of Mays Brown in May. The goal is to integrate the Winter & Co. and Mays Brown practices into a unified marine legal practice.

In separate financial news, Tompkins Financial Corp reduced its stake in Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. by 17.0% during the third quarter. Following this sale, the fund holds 39,342 shares valued at approximately $8,974,000. Meanwhile, Wolfe Research recently downgraded the stock from an ‘outperform’ rating to ‘peer perform’.
