Arthur Nory injured during Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
Brazilian gymnast Arthur Nory suffered an injury during the men's qualifying rounds of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands. During his high-difficulty routine on the horizontal bar, Nory struck his face against the apparatus, resulting in a cut between his eyebrows.
Medical staff treated the injury with four stitches, and Nory was subsequently withdrawn from the competition for safety reasons. Although the athlete expressed a desire to continue competing in the floor and vault exercises to support the Brazilian team, medical protocols prevented his return.
The injury occurred during a challenging period for the Brazilian men's team, which was already competing without Caio Souza due to a prior biceps injury. Following the incident, the Brazilian men's team finished in 19th place in the team competition, missing out on all finals for the first time in 16 years.
