Arthur Okonkwo linked with summer exit from Wrexham
Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo is expected to leave the club permanently before the end of the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old, who recently made his international debut for Nigeria, has fallen to third-choice in the pecking order following the club-record signing of Anthony Patterson from Sunderland.
Okonkwo, who previously played for Arsenal, was a key figure in Wrexham’s successive promotions. He is currently under contract until June 2027, but the club is reportedly interested in cashing in on the player while he retains market value rather than risking a free transfer next year.
Several Championship clubs are monitoring his situation, with Bolton Wanderers and Charlton Athletic identified as primary interested parties.
