During a three-hour and 34-minute match in Cincinnati, Arthur Rinderknech engaged in a bizarre confrontation with a spectator in the stands. While battling an ankle injury and extreme heat with a perceived temperature of 38°C, the Frenchman appeared to mock a fan by shouting “Vamos Juanma!” toward the crowd after breaking back in the decisive set.

The spectator, a tennis betting personality known as Dan's Picks, had been loudly supporting Juan Manuel Cerundolo. The individual later shared a screenshot on X showing a $1,499 wager placed on Cerundolo to win. Cerundolo ultimately won the match with a score of 4-6, 6-7(3), 6-7(5), making the bet successful.

The bettor claimed that Rinderknech had previously complained about the cheering and that the shout was a direct attempt at mockery. The incident has since gained attention on social media.
