Arthur Tzaneros resigns as ACFS Port Logistics CEO
Arthur Tzaneros has resigned as Managing Director and CEO of ACFS Port Logistics following controversial comments made in a private WhatsApp group. The messages, sent to a group of Scots College alumni, reportedly downplayed sexual assault allegations involving students at the college, with Tzaneros describing the incident as “fake news” and referring to the victim as a “willing participant.”
Tzaneros expressed deep regret for his lack of sensitivity, stating, “There is no excuse. I hope that by stepping aside, I am removing this behaviour from consideration of ACFS’s day-to-day operations.” His father, Terry Tzaneros, will serve as interim Managing Director.
The leadership change occurs as the major Australian container logistics firm navigates voluntary administration and significant financial distress. ACFS is currently facing a winding-up order from the Australian Taxation Office regarding nearly $60 million in unpaid liabilities. Receivers have been appointed to explore a potential sale of the business and its assets as a going concern.
