Artificial intelligence drives demand for 620,000 new roles in Italy
A recent report from the Confartigianato study center highlights significant shifts in the Italian labor market driven by artificial intelligence. Between last year and 2026, the craftsmanship sector is expected to seek over 620,000 profiles with roles related to AI.
Currently, 50% of these required roles are difficult to fill within the domestic market. Furthermore, over 70% of companies in both the service and manufacturing sectors have made investments related to artificial intelligence. However, more than 55% of businesses report that the difficulty in finding adequately trained personnel acts as a significant barrier to further investment. The report suggests that AI should be viewed as a tool to stimulate productivity and competitiveness rather than a threat to employment, provided the necessary skills gaps are addressed.
