Anthropic announces Enterprise Frontier Safeguards for corporate AI security
Anthropic has announced the development of Enterprise Frontier Safeguards (EFS), a new security framework designed to address corporate concerns regarding data privacy and the handling of sensitive information in generative AI. Developed in collaboration with over 100 companies across sectors such as finance, healthcare, and law, EFS aims to balance Zero Data Retention (ZDR) privacy with the ability to detect sophisticated fraudulent activity.
A key feature of EFS is the option for clients to store monitoring and activity data within their own managed cloud environments, such as Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Google Cloud Storage. This allows organizations to maintain control using their own encryption keys and access policies. Furthermore, the system is designed to allow client-side representatives to review flagged security issues, reducing the need for human review by Anthropic employees.
The framework is expected to undergo a phased rollout starting in the latter half of 2026.
