Artificial Intelligence Drives Market Surge and Faces Political Bias Scrutiny

Since the launch of ChatGPT at the end of 2022, artificial intelligence has become a major economic engine, boosting the market values of companies such as Nvidia, Microsoft and Alphabet. AI tools are now embedded in everyday activities, prompting concerns about data privacy, job displacement and the concentration of power among a few tech firms. The European Union has introduced the AI Act as an early regulatory response, and a free digital event, BoursoLive, scheduled for 29‑30 June 2026, will examine the opportunities and risks of AI for investors and consumers.

A separate analysis by the Washington Post tested the political framing of leading AI chatbots—including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok and Arya—on highly sensitive U.S. topics such as immigration, taxation, campaign finance, health, law enforcement and the electoral system. The study found that OpenAI’s ChatGPT produced predominantly left‑leaning arguments in about 80 % of cases, while Google’s Gemini offered balanced viewpoints in over 90 % of responses. Surprisingly, Grok and Arya also leaned left more often than expected. The companies behind the models assert a commitment to neutrality, but the research highlights how AI‑generated framing can subtly shape public perception.
