Artificial intelligence integration discussed in healthcare quality seminars

Medical professionals and healthcare organizations are exploring the integration of artificial intelligence to improve clinical decision-making and data management.

In San Juan, during the VIII National Conference of the Latin American Collaborative Forum on Health Quality and Safety, doctors María Carolina García and Hugo Silva presented research from the Hospital Central ‘Dr. Ramón Carrillo’. They demonstrated how AI agents can register, audit, and code clinical information in real time under professional supervision. This initiative aims to mitigate the impact of high patient demand on the quality of clinical records, showing substantial improvements in the completeness and quality of medical histories.

In Punta Cana, Basilica Medical Management hosted the ‘2026 Quality Healthcare Annual Seminar’ focused on ‘AI in Clinical Decision Making & Diagnostics’. Led by President Ramón Tallaj Ureña and CEO Shariff De Los Santos, the seminar addressed the challenges of incorporating AI into healthcare systems. Discussions centered on using technology as a responsible support tool for professionals to enhance diagnosis, prevention, and patient management without replacing clinical judgment or the human dimension of medical care.
