Artificial intelligence integration in financial investments

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being integrated into the financial sector, serving both as a tool for managing investments and as an asset class for investors. AI can assist with summarizing reports, organizing expenses, comparing investment options, and simulating market scenarios. While generalist assistants like ChatGPT or Claude can structure analyses, specialized financial agents are capable of more complex tasks, such as portfolio rebalancing and automated transactions based on user profiles.

At the Inter Invest Summit in Belo Horizonte, experts discussed the evolving role of technology in finance. Banco Inter, for instance, utilizes machine learning for backend operations like fraud prevention, credit analysis, and Pix transaction verification. The bank has also introduced Seven, a generative AI assistant integrated into its ecosystem that features over 80 AI agents to interact with customers regarding their financial data.

Despite these advancements, experts warn of significant limitations. AI can produce incorrect information, use outdated data, or misinterpret documents. Consequently, AI-generated insights should not be used as direct purchase orders without verification from official sources such as the B3.
