Artificial Intelligence reshapes language use and care robotics across Europe

Experts warn that large language models such as ChatGPT and Gemini are influencing how people write and think. Research presented by Zhivar Sourati's team shows a process of “cognitive homogenization,” where interaction with AI leads users to adopt a more standardized style and even align their opinions with AI‑generated suggestions. The phenomenon is linked to a bias toward Western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic (WEIRD) perspectives, with studies noting that AI often reproduces stereotypical depictions, such as portraying medical staff as white men.

In Germany, Neura Robotics CEO David Rieger promotes affordable humanoid AI robots for elderly care, arguing that demographic changes will remove about seven million workers in Europe by 2030. He emphasizes that robots are intended to complement human caregivers, freeing staff to focus on interpersonal tasks, and calls for minimal regulation to allow rapid technology development.
