Artificial intelligence transforms translation profession

Artificial intelligence is transforming the translation profession rather than eliminating it. Dr. Sabri Gürses, Head of the English Translation and Interpreting Department at Üsküdar University, noted that while AI serves as a useful tool, it faces significant limitations in official, artistic, and literary translations.

Gürses also highlighted legal and copyright concerns regarding machine translation, stating that such outputs cannot be used directly in all circumstances. He emphasized that the evolution of AI is changing how the profession operates, necessitating a focus on specialized translation training.
