Artificial intelligence used in educational initiatives in Argentina and Dominican Republic
Educational institutions in Argentina and the Dominican Republic are implementing artificial intelligence to address social and academic challenges.
In Misiones, Argentina, the Ministry of Education is integrating AI into a secondary school competition titled ‘Te cuento de qué se trata’. Students will use AI to research and create audiovisual content aimed at recognizing warning signs of human trafficking and exploitation. The initiative focuses on teaching youth to verify job offers, check employer credentials, and identify suspicious recruitment tactics, such as unrealistic salaries or excessive travel offers.
In the Dominican Republic, students from the Universidad Abierta para Adultos (UAPA) developed ‘Aula Digital’, an AI-driven educational platform designed to combat school dropout rates. The project, which earned third place in the National Entrepreneurship Competition 2026 organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT), uses AI to monitor student metrics—such as login frequency and assignment submission—to identify those at risk of leaving school and provide academic support.
