Artisan Food Market and OctOBOR Fest showcase Romanian gastronomy in Bucharest

Bucharest is hosting significant culinary events that highlight the evolution of Romanian food production. The 13th edition of the Artisan Food Market, held at the National Library of Romania from October 16-18, features 105 exhibitors. The event showcases premium and artisanal products, including award-winning truffle pate, foie gras with truffles, biodynamic wines, and sturgeon zacusca.

Organizers note that these events reflect a shift in the local industry, as producers move from supplying raw materials to developing niche, branded, and processed goods. While annual production for these specialized items remains in the low millions of euros, the market demonstrates growing gastronomic talent and international competitiveness.

Simultaneously, the OctOBOR Fest at Obor Market has drawn crowds interested in traditional grilled dishes. Visitors can find items such as grilled pastrama, priced at 70 lei, alongside pork cheek, ribs, mici, and traditional dishes like sarmale and bulz. The festival atmosphere is complemented by local beverages, including beer and fresh must.
